Elizabeth Van Benschoten

Elizabeth Van Benschoten currently manages the Northern California market for MUFG Union Bank’s Community Development Finance team. Elizabeth joined the Bank in June of 2018. Prior to Union Bank Elizabeth worked with real estate developer BRIDGE Housing serving as President of their CDFI, BRIDGE Impact Capital. In that role she helped BRIDGE develop a private equity fund for mixed income housing and financed the closing of two New Market Tax Credit Transactions. Elizabeth began her financing career with Bank of America, where she spent over ten years financing affordable housing and developing new financial products. She has worked with most of Northern California’s leading developers and enjoys contributing to innovations and advocacy for the field, while also supporting new housing production. Elizabeth serves on the advisory board of the Oakland Fund for Public Innovation and California Housing Consortium’s policy committee. Elizabeth holds an MBA from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business and a BA from Brown University.
