Julie Silas, Directing Attorney, Homebase
Julie Silas, J.D., Directing Attorney at Homebase, has more than twenty five years’ experience in policy leadership, working as an advocate and thought partner with and on behalf of low-income communities. At Homebase, she has assisted communities in their efforts to adopt best practices; coordinated homelessness strategic planning efforts; facilitated community meetings, consumer focus groups, and other stakeholder outreach and engagement. Julie co-authored “Sharing Data Between Health & Homeless Systems of Care: Challenges and Opportunities to Better Address Client Needs,” which identifies successful cross-system and cross-agency data sharing to improve coordination and collaboration between homelessness and health care systems. In addition to her work to end homelessness, she is a subject-matter expert on a variety of health and human services programs. In her earlier career, Julie was a legal aid attorney helping low-income individuals access income assistance, food assistance, and health care.
